Class booking terms & conditions

How to book a cooking class:  

• Class dates are advertised on this website here and in the monthly Culinary Anthropologist email newsletter.  If you don’t get the newsletter already, email Anna to ask to be included.  
• Choose your preferred class date(s) and email Anna to check availability and make your booking.  Please note that many classes fill up several weeks or even months in advance, so early booking is advised.  Please make sure Anna knows of any special dietary requirements.
• Your booking will not be confirmed until full payment has been received.  You can pay by direct bank transfer or by sending a cheque.  Anna will provide the details you need.  Receipt of your payment and your class booking will then be confirmed by email.
• You will receive an email reminding of you the class details a few days before the event.

Cancellation policy:

• If you need to cancel or change your class booking, we will need a minimum of four weeks’ notice. 
• If you change plans less than four weeks in advance, and your place cannot be filled, then we cannot refund or transfer the value of your place.  You can of course send a friend in your place.
• If Culinary Anthropologist needs to cancel a class, we will provide as much notice as possible and refund the class fee you had paid.  Alternatively you may transfer the amount to another class and pay or receive the difference if applicable.

Gift vouchers:

• You may purchase a gift voucher from Culinary Anthropologist for any amount of your choice.  Email Anna with the relevant details – voucher amount, name and address of gift recipient, any special message for the card.  
• Your voucher will be sent when full payment has been received.  You can pay by direct bank transfer or by sending a cheque.  Anna will provide the details you need.  Receipt of your payment will be confirmed by email.
• The gift voucher recipient should book their class(es) in the usual way – see above – and provide their voucher code at the time of booking.
• The same booking cancellation policy also applies – see above.
• Gift vouchers are valid for one year and can be used for or towards any Culinary Anthropologist cooking class (unless you have specified which class the voucher is to be used for).  Change cannot be provided, but credit may be stored and redeemed against a future class.  
• In no circumstances can a gift voucher be redeemed for cash.

Private class bookings:

• You may book an individual or group private class with Culinary Anthropologist, at your home, in Anna’s teaching kitchen or at another venue.  Email Anna to discuss options, prices and availability. Please make sure Anna knows of any special dietary requirements.
• Your booking will not be confirmed until a deposit payment of 50% of the total class fee has been received.  You can pay by direct bank transfer or by sending a cheque.  Culinary Anthropologist will provide an invoice and payment details.  Receipt of your deposit payment and your class booking will be confirmed by email.
• If you need to cancel or change your class booking, we will need a minimum of four weeks’ notice, and in this case can refund the deposit.  If you cancel or change plans less than four weeks in advance, we cannot refund the deposit.
• The balance of the total class fee is due one week before the date of the class.  If you cancel or change plans less than one week in advance, we cannot refund any of the class fee.
• If Culinary Anthropologist needs to cancel your class, we will provide as much notice as possible and refund any class fees you have paid.  Alternatively you may transfer the amount to another class and pay or receive the difference if applicable.
